Classes for disabled children
Recently, NYChesskids has started a new program for students with diabilities. We believe that chess can help those students, because chess helps to stimulate their mind. Playing chess and learning chess could make them very happy. Although it will be very hard for them to learn chess, we believe that it is possible.
NYChesskids is currently sponsoring students with disabilities and with special needs. They are welcome to join our chess camps, tournaments, and chess classes.
In our tournaments we have a special section called "Kids help Kids" where children with disabilities can participate.
NYChesskids traditionally hosts a benefit event in June in which we make donations to organizations for kids with disabilities.
Blind Program
In our Blind program we will be teaching chess on special boards that are specifically designed for the needs of blind students.
Good chess players around the world play blindfolded so we believe it should be possible that blind students can learn chess because they have both a developed mind and senses.
NYChessKids works together with organizations that support kids with disabilities. Our teachers will come to your place to teach chess to your students.
