Teachers

Part of the success of NYChessKids' chess program is that chess teachers support and follow the Chess Program when teaching our students. Please note that our chess teachers specialize and are in fact certified for the levels they teach to students.

Responsibilities

- Teaching according to the NYChessKids chess program
- Certification for specific levels
- Assigning homework to the students
- Monitoring and reporting the student's progress
- Updating the student's profile
- Communicating with the parents
- Recommending students for promotion
- Helping out at chess tournaments
- Promoting the NYChessKids Program

NYChessKids hires people who know chess and are strong chess players. We are looking for teachers that have excellent teaching skills in the first place and we expect them to be nice to children. Not only do they teach chess but also do they communicate the cultural and behavioral aspects of chess education.
