Score
Open to Pre-K to Kindergarten students who are absolute beginners. Many of the participants may not know all the rules of chess. There will be constant supervision of this section. Trophies to all.

Novice
1
Open to grades 1-2. Kindergarten students may also play if their parents wish. This section is meant for kids who know how to play chess but who are inexperienced in playing in a chess tournament. While notation is encouraged it is not required. No clocks will be used. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all.

2
Open to grades 3-12. This section is meant for kids who know how to play chess but who are inexperienced in playing in a chess tournament. While notation is encouraged, it is not required. No clocks will be used. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all.

Kids Help Kids
Section for children with some form of disability. New Section!

RATED
SECTIONS
The following rated sections are only open to students, who are an official member of the USCF. Notating the game on a score sheet and the use of a chess clock is required. Please bring your own scoresheets and chess clock.

K-1
Open to K-1. USCF Rating below 600. 4 Rounds, Game/45. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all. If tied for first place the two players with the highest tie-break points participate in an "blitz" playoff.

Primary
Open to K-3. USCF Rating below 800. 4 Rounds, Game/45. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all. If tied for first place the two players with the highest tie-break points participate in an "blitz" playoff.

Reserve
Open to K-12. USCF Rating below 1000. 4 Rounds, Game/45. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all. If tied for first place the two players with the highest tie-break points participate in an "blitz" playoff.

Classic
Open to K-12. USCF Rating 1000-1299. 4 Rounds, Game/60. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all. If tied for first place the two players with the highest tie-break points participate in an "blitz" playoff.

If you are not a member of the U.S. Chess Federation
but want to play in a rated section, you must become
a member (www.uschess.org) at the tournament ($19 if under 15 years old,
$25 if under 20 years old).
Half Point Byes are available upon request. Limit 2 byes. Rounds 2-4 must commit before the start of Round 2.

There is a concession stand with food for sale, and you may also purchase tournament chess equipment at the site.
