NON-RATED SECTIONS
Notation is not required, no chess clocks will be used.
No Score Open to Pre-K to Kindergarten students who are absolute beginners. Many of the participants may not know all the rules of chess. There will be constant supervision of this section. Trophies and medals to all.
Novice 1 Open to grades Kindergarten and 1. This section is meant for kids who know how to play chess but who are inexperienced in playing in a chess tournament. While notation is encouraged it is not required. No clocks will be used. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all.
Novice 2 Open to grades 2-5. This section is meant for kids in elementary school who know how to play chess but who are inexperienced in playing in a chess tournament. While notation is encouraged, it is not required. No clocks will be used. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all.
Kids Help Kids Intended for students of all grades, who are blind, deaf, or have some other kind of disability. This section is sponsored by NYChessKids. New Section!
 
RATED SECTIONS - Must be a member of USCF!
Rated sections are only open to students, who are an official member of the USCF. Notating the game on a score sheet and the use of a chess clock is required. Please bring your own scoresheets and chess clock.
K-1 Open to K-1. USCF Rating below 500. 4 Rounds, Game/45. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all. If 2 players are tied for first place there will be a "blitz" play off to determine the winner of this section.
Booster Open to students in Kindergarten to 8th grade, rated below 600. 4 rounds, game in 45 minutes. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all. If 2 players are tied for first place there will be a "blitz" play off to determine the winner of this section.
Primary Open to K-3. USCF Rating below 800. 4 Rounds, Game/45. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all. If 2 players are tied for first place there will be a "blitz" play off to determine the winner of this section.
Reserve Open to K-12. USCF Rating 600-999. 4 Rounds, Game/45. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all. If 2 players are tied for first place there will be a "blitz" play off to determine the winner of this section.
Classic Open to K-12. USCF Rating 1000-1299. 4 Rounds, Game/60. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all. If 2 players are tied for first place there will be a "blitz" play off to determine the winner of this section.
Open Open to K-12. USCF Rating 1300-1599. 3 Rounds, Game/75. Trophies to Top 10, then medals to all. If 2 players are tied for first place there will be a "blitz" play off to determine the winner of this section.
Championship Open to K-12. USCF Rating 1600 +. 3 Rounds, Game/75. Free entry with 2000 + rating. If 2 players are tied for first place there will be a "blitz" play off to determine the winner of this section. Prizes to Top 10.

$40 by Monday 11:59 p.m. before event
