PS9 Tournament (April 14, 2002)

Rob Young's tournament was held at PS9. It was a great tournament .Many of the kids and parents I spoke had a wonderful time. There were as many as 120-130 kids entered in the tournament. They had 5 sections for the players: K to 1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8 and the Open, which was the strongest.

PS 9 school made a strong showing in the standings, which may help the school's program, but they weren't number one.

Joseph: How did it feel to win a trophy? Jacob: It felt great! Raven: It felt wonderful! Joseph: Are you going to play at Hunter next week? Raven: I want to save my energy for the big tournament in Portland. Jacob: Yes I'm definitely going. Joseph: How much do you study? Jacob: I study a lot. Raven: I didn't study much for this tournament.
