Interested in gaining additional, individualized help? If you want your child to benefit from extra coaching, NYChessKids can provide experienced scholastic chess teachers that will take your child’s game to the next level. Whether your aspiring youngster is relatively new to the game, or a tournament veteran who wants to make that big breakthrough to expert or master, we can create a program that will help accomplish the goal. We are classroom teachers experienced with students Pre-K to high school, ranging from beginners to national champions (we are happy to provide verification of this).

From you and your child we need only two things: belief in the system we will tailor to your child’s needs, and his or her earnest efforts to follow that system. About our success there is no doubt; join the dozens of students who have seen lasting improvement in their chess game!

Depending on your child’s level, we may ask for copies of recent tournament games to determine their strengths and weaknesses.

For more information, or to have any questions about private lessons answered, please email us at lessons@nychesskids.com. You can call us at 212-598-9674 from 10am-1pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you call outside of these hours, we will respond to your inquiry the next business day.

When emailing us for lessons, please provide us with the following information about your child: their age, the school they attend, the area in which they live, their chess rating (if applicable), and any previous chess teaching they may have had.
